Latics under 18’s will round off their season by playing for the Lancashire FA Cup at Christopher Park this morning at 11.00 a.m., and whatsmore the admission is FREE to cheer the boys on to glory.

Lancashire FA Youth Cup Final –  Wigan Athletic v Tranmere Rovers, Saturday 25 April 2015, kick off 11.00am at Christopher Park 
 

After narrowly missing out on the Football League Youth Alliance title on Tuesday afternoon away to Rochdale, Latics now have another chance to claim some silverware in what has been an impressive and demanding campaign.

Tuesday’s 1-0 loss saw Latics finish second behind Bury by just one point, whilst Tranmere finished fourth.

Tranmere Rovers are the visitors to Christopher Park for the Lancashire FA Cup final, with nothing between the sides in earlier meeting during the season, a 0-0 draw at Tranmere in August and a 2-2 home draw in December.

ROAD TO THE FINAL

Latics U18Both Latics and Tranmere entered the competition at the quarter finals, recording comprehensive victories to book their respective semi-final spots.

Latics won 4-1 at Robin Park Arena against Preston North End, with Tranmere sealing a comfortable 3-0 home win against Bury.

The semi-final proved more of a battle, with Sam Cosgrove scoring late on in a 1-0 win against Rochdale, as Tranmere once again kept a clean sheet to win 2-0 at home to Blackpool.
