It is looking increasingly likely that Uwe Rosler has been sacked, just a couple of days after getting a vote of confidence from Dave Whelan.

We have to stress that there has been no official statement at all from the Club on this, but the Telegraph have published it on their website and that has started a social media frenzy.

The article goes on to say that Malky Mackay is the favourite to take over.

We will update you as soon as soon as possible….

The article goes:

Rosler has paid the price for a difficult start to the season to become the latest Championship manager to lose his job, with Malky Mackay emerging as an early contender to replace him.

Wigan Athletic reached the play-offs last season under Rosler but the 3-1 defeat at Bolton Wanderers last week left them with only ‎17 points from 17 games.

Rosler was poached from Brentford last year and replaced Owen Coyle with an impressive reputation.

Celtic and Eintracht Frankfurt had both considered moves for the former Manchester City forward during last season’s charge to the play-offs but this campaign has proven a struggle.

Mackay, sacked by Cardiff last December, is the favourite to succeed him at the DW Stadium.
