With all the World Cup hoo ha going on, you always find the ones that seem to know all about the competition and the teams playing in it, here is a book that will put that knowledge to the test, or just to have a bit of fun.

Andrew Clark is the co-author of a brand new book called ‘Three Lions and an Anorak: an England World Cup Quiz Odyssey’ and he is writing to ask for your help. The book has been published independently which means that they do not enjoy either the marketing clout or extensive distribution footprint of a large publishing house.

He continues: We are therefore promoting the book directly to fellow football fans largely through football supporters groups, like Wigan Athletic Supporters Club, and that’s why I’m writing to you with news about an exclusive offer.

The price of ‘Three Lions and an Anorak’ will be reduced to £3.99 (inclusive of postage) on both Tuesday and Thursday this week between seven o’clock and eight o’clock (between the first and second World Cup games on each of those evenings). To take advantage of this offer Wigan Athletic Supporters Club members simply need to buy the book directly from the authors via the following Amazon link:

Despite its title, ‘Three Lions and an Anorak’ is not just for anoraks! While admittedly the round ‘Did I Not Know That!’ is devoted to the more obscure England World Cup facts that only a true anorak will know, there is plenty for everyone. England’s World Cup songs, for instance, are covered in the round ‘We’re Singing for England!’ while some of our more infamous World Cup misdemeanours feature in ‘Infamy, Infamy, the Ref’s Got it in For Me!’ Other rounds include ‘Young Lions’, ‘Paying the Penalty’ (of course!), ‘1966 and All That’ and ‘Around the World in 14 Finals’. Overall, the book is organised into thirty themed rounds of varied questions and is light-hearted, quirky and entertaining.

There is a ‘Look Inside’ facility on Amazon that allows you to view the Contents page of the book and also see the first two rounds of questions to whet your appetite. I’m sure that any England fan will thoroughly enjoy the book and that it will be an essential accessory at any World Cup party.
