Let Sunderland win be start

Latics play at home for the first time this month at the DW stadium with Accrington being the visiting team. It would have been really nice for there to have been fans in the ground, but it looks like we will have to wait a bit longer for that.

The Wigan Athletic team that pulled together to get that much needed win at the Stadium of Light last weekend was nothing short of heroic, A win which with Betfred Promo Code – 100% Verified was good for Latics fans taking a punt on. After the time they have worked through, the situation they have found themselves in and the pressure that is riding on this very young and inexperienced team, they are amazing.

No-one could have foreseen a what happened in June, and the effects of that could have been catastrophic. But luckily the previous management, if not owners, were constantly looking to the future and that is why we have players to put on the pitch.

Our Academy has been at the top of their tree for a significant amount of time, they are winners. These players have been thrust into first team action probably 18 months to 3 years ahead of when they should have been and they haven’t shied away.

They have tried to put what is happening away from the pitch to the back of their minds and got on with what they love, playing football.

I am and I know a lot of our fans are forever the optimist. We know these players are good, we know they can play, we have to realists and see that they need plenty of experienced heads around them and unfortunately most of ours are not there anymore.

I won’t get into what is happening with the admins, EFL and the bidders. But whoever comes in needs to look to bolster this squad, to get the experience in there with these amazing kids to see us safe in this league for this season.

We then need to build on it for the future and get back into the Championship, that isn’t going to happen if an owner thinks they can come in and just run the club as it is, if not cut resources. That results in relegation and a battle we really would not need next season.

Looking to this weekend, we have a great opportunity to get back-to-back wins and keep in touch with those teams above us. It is going to be tough; the season is going to be tough, but we must look forward to that time when we can get together at the stadium and cheer these boys on.

I think this is the disappointment, that we can’t be there to be that 12th player, to show these boys that we are behind them. We have to believe that results will start to go our way, the ownership will be sorted for the good of the club and that we will be able to move on.

That day will come when we will be happy with new owners and a look forward to rebuilding our team and wonderful club.
