£160,000 hit, here’s how it is spent

We will like to update all supporters and friends of Wigan Athletic on progress with the Let’s Hang On appeal.  Today we passed a fantastic milestone of £160,000.  It is an amazing achievement for the fans of our Football Club to show so much love and support for our team.

The fantastic result last night means that Championship survival is in our own hands and the monies you have raised are ensuring that the players are supported for the final two games of the season. As reported previously, the coach and hotel for Charlton have been fully covered by the fund.

Yesterday your monies were able to secure the continuation of the Official Wigan Athletic website along with allowing the Club Shop to continue trading and enabling staff to post out orders which brings in additional income for the Football Club.

The services of essential medical staff for the players were secured for the remaining games as well as statutory medical requirements for home games including ambulance attendance.  The training ground has been made COVID secure to enable staff to continue working safely at Christopher Park and the programme and Latics TV costs for the final games of the season have been covered.

Within the next 7 days we will achieve our first goal of ensuring that our remaining fixtures can be completed thanks to ALL of you.

We are meeting with the administrators later this week to discuss with them the next steps that we will need to take to support our Football Club over the next few weeks as the process of finding a suitable buyer continues.

As we move towards the end of July there will be more costs to consider and we are aiming to continue to support our Football Club to help to protect assets and the integrity of our club as much as we possibly can.
