Community Trust looking for runners in Wigan 10K

As we know, there are lots of organisations suffering from a lack of fundraising due to COVID19. Our very own Wigan Athletic Community Trust is one of those that still needs our help to raise money so they are able to carry on the fantastic work they do in the community and beyond.

Wigan Athletic Community Trust are looking to enter a team of runners into this year’s Wigan 10K and help raise vital funds for the club’s official charity.

Taking place on Sunday 5^th September 2021, the annual event returns this year following the postponement of last year’s race due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over 40 runners represented the Community Trust in the last race back in 2019 with over £3000 raised to help with the Trust’s numerous projects and initiatives.

Working with Wigan Athletic to improve health, enhance life chances and create stronger, safer communities, the Trust have provided a critical service to those most in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Runners wishing to run the 10K or the Wigan Family Mile with Trust staff, will receive free entry into the race, a running t-shirt to take part in and an invitation to an eight-week training programme to help with preparation for the race.

Each runner will be asked to raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship.
