The team will be managed by Ray Mathias, who of course led Latics in two spells, in the 1980s and 1990s.
It should be a real night of Latics nostalgia, as well as a chance to see some of the club’s up and coming stars with the Development Squad featuring the likes of Jordan Flores and Louis Robles, who both appeared off the first-team bench at Brentford, alongside players from the current squad and various Academy teams at the club.
Tickets for the match, sponsored by Hardwick Financial Solutions, are available from the ticket office at the DW Stadium, or by ringing 0871 6633552.
It’s also pay on the night, priced £5 adults, £2 concessions and under-5s free, with plenty of entertainment for kids and families as well as a raffle, with all the proceeds going to Joseph’s Goal.
Joseph’s Goal was set up by the Wigan Evening Post’s Latics correspondent Paul Kendrick, to raise funds for research into NKH, the incurable genetic disorder his son Joseph was diagnosed with at birth.
The Ashton Town stadium is situated at The AM Property Stadium, Edge Green Street, Ashton, WN4 8SL.
