Wigan Athletic Supporters Club Ltd

In response to queries we have received we are pleased to confirm that the Official Wigan Athletic Supporters Club have formed a limited company in its name.

The Supporters Club was formed back at Springfield Park and has developed and moved with the times to where we are today. During the administration of Wigan Athletic Football Club we have worked tirelessly and professionally to support our club through fundraising, discussions with the administrators and raising awareness of the issues surrounding our club at the highest level.

As the custodians of the funds raised on behalf of all supporters of Wigan Athletic, it is vital that we are able to act professionally and transparently in order to fulfil the objectives of our crowdfunding appeal.

As a result on September 3rd 2020 Wigan Athletic Supporters Club Limited was officially registered with Companies House under company registration number 12856773.

This is part of an ongoing process which began prior to the club’s administration, with the ultimate aim of becoming a Community Benefit Society – a Supporters Trust.  This will continue to see the Supporters Club work alongside the football club and the Community Trust as we do now, in order to benefit both our supporters and the town as a whole.

We have been working alongside other clubs that have taken this journey before us and we are guided and advised by the Football Supporter’s Association (FSA) to ensure that the process is completed as seamlessly as possible.
