Wall of Hop Update

We have been working in the background for many months now to bring the Memorial of Hope to a reality at the stadium.

Most fans will know, that during administration, Martin Tarbuck at the Mudhutter led a branch of the first Crowdfunder where fans could pledge to a “Wall of Hope” memorial to be erected at the stadium.

Following approval of a site at the ground earlier this year with club officials, we are delighted that we have some initial plans for the structure.

Made of stainless steel with the names of those who donated to the “Wall of Hope” appeal etched into the piece, the current plan is for a structure within a small garden area in front of the stadium as shown, complete with seating for reflection and incorporating a real Rowan tree which comes from the WAFC crest, which can be used as a living memorial for fans present and future to remember their loved ones by hanging tags onto the tree branches at special times for them.  This will allow all WAFC supporters and their families both past and present to be a part of the memorial.

The design of the structure itself is now in processing and we can share some of the design elements that will be included with supporters in the detail below. We are meeting with the designer at the end of the season to look at the next stages, to bring the memorial to construction phase.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience as we work on this next step!

If anyone has any feedback or ideas then please just get in touch!

It has been a challenging season for Wigan fans, but we have always had hope. We will be back better than ever, and we must believe!
