Fans Forum – Concise Version

With Latic’s League position, you would have expected a fans forum to be a glum, drab and low key affair. It was nothing of the sort and good too see so many Official Supporters Club members occupying the seats and getting involved with asking questions.

Here is a compact run down of the night:

Shaun Maloney and Mal Brannigan took questions about the finances and the plans for the cub at present and going forward. Hosted by Tommy Gore.

From the off both the Shaun and mal were open and transparent, firstly with Mal fielding questions on the finances and managerial questions.

Reassurances were given, saying we were definite within EFL and the owner’s budgets, and the owners were fully behind us and will continue you invest. All debts were converted to equity, and so not putting the Club into debt.

The then managerial team and club discussed in the summer how they genuinely thought the squad was good enough to stay in this league.

It became apparent quite quickly this was the wrong time for Kolo and Mal acted quickly to try and return some stability with the appointment of Shaun.

Shaun himself said he came and needed to sort out both boxes, and feels he certainly don that defensively and hard work will sort the attacking third.

The new gaffer is looking to the future behind the scenes, but remains focussed on the game to game situation, saying I am only thinking of Burnley right now, then it will be Coventry.

On the season tickets, Mal made it quite clear money needs to come into the club. Offering and 8 month interest and finance free option to pay for a season ticket. At the moment there around 7,000 season ticket holders and would love this to grow, so we are making it as easy as possible for people.

Shaun said it was also on him to give value for money, firstly with delivering a team that can compete but also making it entertaining for the fans, whilst watching what he spends along the way. He wants give value to the fan and the owners.

The final question sums up how much of a Tic the manager is, with his sense of humour showing through: ‘Could Shaun please step onto the dance floor and do the Hokey Cokey and turn around?’ Shaun: ‘I’d need a few pints to do that! I’ll tell you what, if we stay up, we’ll revisit this one’

Mal and Shaun stayed on quite a while afterwards to speak in person to fans, not leaving until everyone had had their say. All Credit.
